My purse will complement my outfit. I have a black LV clutch I very often use when dressed up. Super classic. If black doesn’t coordinate I have some other options of dressy clutches but I won’t spend near that much on things that aren’t used much.

I'm out of the loop - I googled large envelope bag! I'm thinking the black bag I have is a little similar. Maybe
I can hide the straps and act like it's a clutch.

I don't have special occasion handbags or purses anymore. I just use the same one I use all the time, it's not big but not tiny either.

A small dressy thin shoulder strap will probably work best. I have one that's made of a tapestry fabric so it's lightweight and has many different small areas of color so that it works with almost any color dress. You don't have to spend a fortune on it and I think you'll feel better using a purse that isn't your everyday one. Love the idea of gold shoes - I'm a glitter and glitz fan myself

For the wedding purse I always use this small tan with strap, goes with everything. I really like the small black purse with strap. Marshalls has lot of small purses reasonably priced.

Think for a wedding it's best to leave the large purse at home and go with the small purse. When someone is all dressed up at a wedding and they have a large purse, it just doesn't go.

I always prefer a small clutch for weddings. Once at the reception it is easier to set them down while eating, toasting etc. near you on the table or leave on your seat while dancing. With larger bags there is no where to place them. I keep a nude colored one in my arsenal as it tends to match everything.

My silly question is - do you always buy a dressy purse/clutch to go with your outfit? Does it have to match your shoes? I'm probably going to wear dressy gold sandals to both and maybe I'll look for an inexpensive gold bag or I'll just take a regular black bag that I have that will fit items.

At a dear friend's wedding in 2005, I remember I had a small dressy bag and my envelope with the wedding
gift (check) would not fit in the bag. I held it alongside it. Well, I dropped the envelope in the church! I was
mortified when I couldn't find it. I asked the bride at the reception if anyone noticed an envelope. Luckily, another guest saw it on the church floor and handed it to my friend (bride). That's why I don't want a tiny bag. And I tend to "overpack.'

Do you even bring a bag/purse to a wedding? Some ladies make their husbands/boyfriends hold everything.
A small cross body bag would work.

I like a small clutch, just big enough for phone, lip gloss, card for the couple. I also, being an old lady, like to match shoes and purse colorwise.

What color dress are you wearing?
If I were you, I'd head to the nearest TJMaxx/Marshalls and grab a gold matching bag; I see them all the time there.
