Are we allowed to warn people against a product that doesn't perform? (worthless) - in order to maybe save them money?

What does C-D's TOS say about providing reviews of specifically named consumer products? Sounds like a question for the mods. Considering this subforum I'd bet there are LOTS!

Look at the website, find the reviews, and leave one

Leave reviews on their website or wherever it's being sold

I've certainly seen posts about bad movies and bad restaurants.

Terms of service states:
"This is not the right place for consumer complaints. Such posts present defamation issues and they don't give the other side the opportunity to present their side of the argument."

So, you shouldn't???

It's not terribly clear, but I think that's referring more to reviews of a local hairdresser or pizza place. Considering there's a whole subforum dedicated to product reviews, I would assume that product reviews are welcome on C-D.

Hm. I have yet to see any general chat forum get in trouble for defamation over a casual complaint about a product, service, person or company.

The Terms of Service do not permit members to post consumer complaints naming specific companies.

Well, color me embarrassed! I never noticed that there is a Product Reviews subforum. The P.R. subforum was just brought to my attention by an inquiring member.

Since the ToS state that consumer complaints are not permitted, I'm not sure how that is handled in Product Reviews. I will send a DM to the Shopping moderator and the senior moderator to inquire as to how this is handled. Please stand by!
