Its in the dye. Its in more than that outfit. Its in your hair-dye and make-up most likely too.
And it could also be in the boning of the fake-corset thing as I highly doubt something like that is going to have steel boning. Lead is in many things that people don't even stop to think about before using. That's probably why that law thing was passed so that parents would know about any lead.
Hmm..further information...."Made in China" ...shouldn't be surprised about that! Brand name: Tripp NYC .... Contents information: "80% Polyvinylchloride, 20% Polyurethane" The logo on the tag: appropriately enough....a skull with red bat or vampire wings on each side! It zips up the back and the corset laces up the front. The bodice is black velvet with black lace trim, and the corset part is vinyl, also with black lace overlay. There is boning, but of course, it's sewn in and covered, so can't tell what it's made of. There are no care instructions given at all!
Wow...this has taught me to pay more attention to the labels of clothing we purchase! Probably no big deal to many, but my daughter has autism and we just don't need to borrow trouble of any kind.
A lot of non-organic clothing contains chemicals that would horrify most people. Not saying that lead is okay, but rather that even "natural" fabrics like cotton can contain really horrific pesticides and additives. I wonder if someday the government and watch-dog groups will be as concerned about these other substances as they are about lead...
"Warning: This article of clothing is more than likely glaringly tacky and may indicate large amounts of poorly written poetry about to be committed to diaries."
The state of California has those signs everywhere, but frankly I prefer my own on every article of HT clothing.

Sadly enough, I lol'd. I used to shop at Hot Topic but grew out of it in a year or two.
Lead, eh? Well, I guess it's a whole new meaning to being "MORE METAL THAN U."
I bought Invader Zip flips from there so maybe that's why I had lead feet.
