I need help trying to find a small, cross body messenger bag-type purse with a TON of pockets and zippered compartments. The largest "main" part of the bag needs to have a full zip across (preferably no "flap" over the top) and I'd like the color to be black (would be great if it had like a dark grey/silver contrast or design on it). I'd like the straps to be adjustable and it would be even better if there is also a small handle to carry the bag. I'm trying to find something under $100, but I could spend a bit more if it's something I really like. I want something well-made that will last me.

Oddly enough, this is on the right track--but since it's for carrying a laptop, it's very square and boxy: Incase Product

Has anyone seen anything like what I'm describing??? I'd love you forever if you could suggest anything remotely close!

FYI--At the moment I'm using a Stella McCartney LeSportsac bag and, although I like it...It's a little bit flimsy for my needs.

REI has mostly outdoors/travel type stuff, very functional & not dressy at all. I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about, but they may have something which could suit your needs. I bought a travel bag from them and am extremely happy with it.

Check out a golf store. I found this little bag that is for balls.Ts etc. And it is perfect. Its all black and the only mesh you can see is if you unzip a part of it. Its the size of a brown bag lunch sack.

There are a TON here:
bags , Messenger Bags, Black - Search Zappos.com

Plus they say if they have a zipper or not. You can always get a zipper put in easily at your drycleaners.

Have you checked out the Timbuk2 and Osprey line of packs? You can probably find what you are looking for between the two. Check out an REI as mentioned above, or the online catalogs if one isn't nearby.

So I think I'm going to spend a bit more and get either this bag: Juicy Couture | Shop Online | Handbags & Shoes | Handbags | Non-Stop Nylon Satchel or this bag: Juicy Couture | Shop Online | Handbags & Shoes | Handbags | Non-Stop Nylon Satchel in black, not hot pink.

I used to like Juicy Couture bags, but then I felt like they got a bit gaudy, and I'm not a fan of leather. However, I just fell in *love* with these (I'm thinking the first one, it has a long handle for cross-body, BTW). I know they're not traditionally messenger-bag style, but I think that they're what I'm looking for.

Thanks everyone for input!!
