Moving to NWA: More suited to Fayetteville or Rogers?

I don't think Bentonville or Rogers would be bad. It's just more conservative, traditional, and you'll see a megachurch (or two? I forget) from I-540 as you travel from Fayetteville, north. I'm putting in my vote for Fayetteville for you.

You'd probably be able to rent something pretty easily near the Square or off of the University now that all the college kids have gone home. All of this area is nice, quiet, and walkable. Mostly just wonderful old houses and newly-built condos in that area, so there's a mixy vibe with the old and new. I don't know much about the miles of nice, paved trails that run through Fayetteville, but from what I gather they're very nice and they have plans to expand them to over 100 miles in total length and connect them to various other parks and trails in the city. Sweet.

One of the first places I ever lived in Fayetteville, after college (mid 90s), was an apartment in a house on Watson Street, which is one street behind Dickson (Dickson being the main drag off the University). From there I was able to walk to pretty much anything I needed access to. My car stayed parked except for going to and from work. It was a great area then, still is now. So for my part, I'd say check into all the areas around the University and the Square.
