When I looked I found a handful of little apartment buildings. Look at Holiday Island maybe.

I looked at Eureka for a little bit but ended up in Fayetteville.

They actually have a trolley system that is reasonable priced and will get you lots of places, but yes in Eureka Springs you'll want to have car. I expect you'll wind up doing some of your shopping in the Fayetteville or Rogers area.

If it doesn't work out, Fayetteville is the next most "liberal", probably in Arkansas. A lot of that has to do with the college town, but it also has been a "hippie haven" since the 70s at least.

Fayetteville has a lot to offer:
One of the best public libraries I have ever used
Walton Arts Center
Farmer's Market
Dickson Street
Public transportation
Many 'local flavor' places to grab a burger or pizza
Job opportunities

I would highly recommend taking a look
