$1000.00 per year for $175K value is very high. In Wisconsin it is $450.00 for $235K value with $1K deductible.

Different insurance companies can have very different prices. I pay $1400/year in a log home (about 350K coverage), remote location so no where near any hydrants, we don't even have water lines here. Insurance companies do not like log homes. I'm not in NWA, but north central AR.

I recently had another company quite me and it was almost $2300 for the same coverage.

How did you pay such low rates in Florida? In south LA, my insurance was almost $4200/year and that wasn't including flood.

Our Florida daughter pays a heck of a lot for her insurance. yes, her house is probably worth over a 1/2 mil but her rates are still high. Ours are not bad, we have $1000.00 deductible and I think the house is priced at about $225,000 Our insurance is why under $1000.per year.
