We used to have some in a garden pond, and we got meal worms at the pet shop, sold for feeding pet reptiles, but they will eat chicken, some vegetables but they need to eat Fish, like feeder goldfish or guppies. Don't keep them in a tank too long, or they will die when they get too big for it. They need about 75 gallons per fish at adult size.
