My husband and I are considering relocating to Sedona. Does anyone know if the area is "kid friendly"??? Any responses are well appreciated.

Sedona, has a "Boys and Girls Club". I don't know what you mean by, "kid friendly." As long as you don't move into the 55 and over mobile home park you should be fine.

I love sedona! It is just expensive (for what you get) and a little too "small town" for me but I absolutley love to vaca there! Kid friendly? I would say it is, they do have a very nice high school and a lot of cultural/outdoors activities for young people. Sedona has been stereotyped a "hippy art" sort of town so you will find you have more in the way of "herbs" than you might think. I would visit first, maybe check out the local hangouts and defnitly schools and neighborhoods.

When we visited a couple of weeks ago, we didn't see many young children. Also, met a local who said she wanted to move because of the lack of activities (sports, arts & education) for children. She wasn't a fan of the area so wanted to reseach it more.

Yes, we are concerned about it being too small as well. The beauty is stunning and we are looking for a slower pace of life but do want some sort of pace. We met a local bartender who has a small child and said she couldn't wait to leave the area. She said the schools were poor, service was difficult to find & the traffic during the summer was horrible. Just wanted to see if someone out there had another perspective. THANKS!

I have lived there for about 12 years, and I would say it is NOT kid friendly. Arizona in generel does not much for the kids.

But: It has a great Montessori school, some activity places and great schools, at least it looks like it, they have money

you are absolutely right, Arizona does more for illegals then it does it's own children. Look up the statistics--Arizona ranks bottom for educating their children and teachers are paid horrible. Yet we can spend billions on unpaid medical bills generated by illegals.

I'd be bored to death up there if I were a kid.

Maybe not the response you were expecting, CLambert . . .

However, I would say NO. There are many more places (most not in Arizona) that would be more "kid friendly" as far as I'm concerned.

To visit - yes.
To live - no.
