Well after multiple trips, much research, alot of thought we made the commitment and have a contract on a new home in Terra Vista.
We worked thru the issues of location, distance to airport, shopping and beaches and decided that is where we want to be....
Now we are in the process of getting our house in the frigid north ready to sell...putting the house on the market April 1 and if all goes well this will be our last winter in the cold ....

We are moving from the western NY area, (between Buffalo and Rochester) to the Leesburg/Lake county area.....I actually found City Data a few years ago just to find out more about Florida. Despite the large number of negative posts here, we do not regret our Florida buy one bit.

I cant blame you for wanting to get away from that part of the country, I spend 3 years in Buffalo and the winters are brutal and long..as we used to say Buffalo has 2 seasons July and winter...
we are nervous about our choice but you never can be 100% certain about a place ...
