Bush was able to get away with starting a poorly-planned war under dubious circumstances. War crime trials are kangaroo courts, anyway. You're ranting and raving and you've careened way off topic.

Florida rail infrastructure has been declining since the 1960's. Other than double tracking on the CSX/Tri-Rail corridor in the last five years, no significant investment has been made in rail infrastructure for quite some time. The CSX trackage in South Dade is in very poor shape and trains run very slowly through that area. Also, FEC eastern seaboard passenger service has been defunct since 1968. The former tracks of the FEC are now the busway in South Dade.

I'm a little confused, would'nt the rail system create jobs for a couple of years thus help the state finanically through taxes and more goods bought?

Is this a partisian thing, are these Refutican governors trying to make a point off of the people that they are suppose to serve?

The governor who rejected this will be retired from office by the time that the rail project was done, and I'm sure that he is not worried about transportation issues anyway.

Maybe not.

Dockery upset Scott may give green light to SunRail

According to FDOT documents, the state gives CSX a half-billion dollars in rail upgrades across the state for the right to share 61.5 miles of Orlando-area track. Dockery says it's a handout to a private corporation that will start running more freight through Central Florida communities.

I didn't vote for Scott, and I am not a fan, but he made the right call on this one. As for Cali, I'm not sure you should be thrilled with the way HSR is working out there. The article below is a good read on why this boondoggle was rejected in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin....

Perhaps rail is the future but for the moment Americans dont much care for trains and other forms of public transit and would rather drive,
The problem with the whole high speed rail concept is you got to spend billions to build it and all the public transit infrastructure at each station first and then hope enough people will use it to make it economically viable,
Until gas gets a long way north of $10gal most people wont give any thought to taking a train and will just jump in the car and go..
