Hello my fellow Floridians,
I need some vacation ideas. We want to take a vacation somewhere in FL been to orlando, key west and Daytona. We were thinking about maybe west florida...relax, go to the beach, go out to eat, maybe ride a bike, sight seeing etc. We want to take this vacation in December.

St Augustine is a good option with lots of history, a walkable downtown area with good restaurants/shops/galleries/museums and nice beaches (St Augustine Beach and Vilano Beach).

My wife and I spent a week on Long Boat Key...and took the trolly into town to have dinner/drinks/etc...the hotel was right on the beach...and there were as many bike riders as there were cars...our next trip will be the same area...but we will be staying at the Lido Beach Resort...try this website to look up hotels/resorts www.kayak.com

For someone that wants to come to Florida in December, I'd guess that they'd want it to be warm. St. Augustine, while lovely, is just going to be too cool that time of year.

I don't think "warm" was on their radar if they're also considering the panhandle. Something else to consider for St Augustine in December is the Nights Of Lights event. It's a spectacular time to visit with much of the old city lit up at night with white lights. NIGHTS OF LIGHTS! - FloridasHistoricCoast.com

No question about it... Destin.

With the exception of the Keys I've been to virtually every vacation location in Florida. And for my money there's absolutely no place that rivals it.

Destin! I went this year and will be going back next spring. It's the best beach in Florida (from my experience). It's very laid back and you can get a condo on the beach for cheeeeeeap like 89 a night.
