This Saturday morning I'm (scheduled to be) on an airplane to Miami and will be driving down to Cudjoe Key. I've been in Florida once. Well I've been to Disney World once...when I was five. So I'm super excited to actually get outside the vast expanse of the Disney World parking lot this time around.

I know, our timing is awesome . The following paragraphs were written under the pretense that the weather(and airline) allows us to actually fly out this weekend. It'd be nice to take refuge down there while the northeast is pelted with this thing.

I am the youngest at 21, and the oldest are my parents who are in their 50's. We all scuba dive, so if there are any divers in the house, it'd be great if you had any input or must-see dive or snorkeling sites, I will be working on another dive certification and will be pretty booked.

We will be there for a week, including Halloween, and probably dining out a lot. We're outdoorsy and are looking for some fun recreational activities(both on land and sea), we are definitely interested in traveling to other keys/nearby towns. I don't expect to be spending much time in Miami, unfortunately, but if there's anything interesting between the airport and our destination, we'd be interested in checking it out.

Like I said, my knowledge of this area is slim at best and I might as well be an alien, so any advice helps.

I think the Everglades is interesting. See some gators and other wildlife. That would be between Miami and Key West.

As for Key West I would reccomend Fort Jefferson. As for dives I am not too sure about anything like that. I know there are some old ship wrecks off the coast just not sure where. Ship wrecks forms the 1700s and 1800s.

Key West is a fairly historic city. And make sure to get some conch fritters.

Between Miami and Key Largo there is biker bar/restaurant that would be a great place to stop for a bite to eat. It's called Alabama Jacks, its right before the toll bridge heading south. Alabama Jacks - Key Largo | Urbanspoon

There is if you take card sound road. You don't need to take card sound road you can just take US-1 down all the way. Alabama Jacks is off card sound road and I think the toll is $1.
