We went to the springs at Kelly Park this past weekend. It was awesome. We really liked the clear water and my girls enjoyed playing in the sand.

As we drove back to Oviedo, I noticed that there are some really nice neighborhoods along Wekiva Springs Rd (I believe the name) with lots of huge trees and even some hills. There were several neighborhoods although I don't remember the names. I think one was Deer Run and I believe it had a golf course. Anyhow, that area is really nice, and I'm curious to what the drawbacks are of the area.

I hardly ever hear people brag about that area like I do Winter Springs or Lake Mary, Windermere, etc.

Is it too isolated for some ppl? Too small and not enough going on?

The only real drawbacks I know of are mosquitos due to proximity to wekiva state park. It really is a great area. The reason you may not hear much about it ia becauae its an older established area that hasnt really aeen any development in decades. Because it borders the state park its been fully developed for quite some time now. People dont move frim the area very often, ita not very transient so there is not much housing stock for sale there. Finally its just a really well kept secret. Its a tight knit community where most of the residents dont really want their secret getting out.

Super expensive? Do you have to get on I-4 to travel to downtown?

Depends on the neighborhood. Most of the neighborhoods along wekiva springs rd are fairly expensive, especially the ones with Lake Brantley access. The homes along Hunt Club blvd are more affordable. Yes you have to take I4 to downtown. There are baxk ways such as edgewater or wymore road but takes longer.
