I think that all of Florida, including the panhandle, is overpriced and overrated. But compared to south Florida, the panhandle is paradise. South Florida is the most boring, least appealing area of the whole southeast.

Well the temp today was 75 degrees and for many of us this area provides a secured place, better education than other regions of the state, less crowded, lower cost of living, less crime, and a true community feeling. Great beaches, great towns like Destin, Fort Walton beach, and Panama City, we have a large number of families from south Florida that vacation here (i can imagine the reason).
I do respect your opinion, but sometimes the bigger cities just don't fit the bill of a Paradise for many families. For some of us , this area (NW FL) is a paradise that we can enjoy and share with others without the fear of cost and crime....
We all enjoy what we like, great for you if Miami is what you like.
Thank you

Not all the areas will be perfect, we have bad and superb areas just like any other city or county. For that reason I mentioned cities in Okaloosa. The data from 2006 is great Santa Rosa
2,043.4 per 100k ( I live in Santa Rosa), Okaloosa with 3,137.5.

Navarre is Santa Rosa Cnty, yes?
I'm being given an education on purchasing a "short sale" there. Not sure if that's how we're going to go but we're definitely flying back in a couple weeks to make sure.
Is "southeast fl like another country"? Personally I find that to be a racist and ignorant question.
What country would the OP like to see himself/herself in?

Nah Im not a Florida type of guy. I grew up 22 years in New Jersey and miss the solid 4 seasons. Im honestly open to move almost anywhere except any southern states or California and states that are in Tornado alley in the midwest, so that leaves me with maybe 25 states to choose from? lol Kinda wish I had the courage to move to the North West but will most likely head back to what I know best in the Northeast.
