As with most, if not all, states......people will vote for whomever promises them more stuff at no cost to them. Voting records or actual facts will not matter, as no one pays attention, no matter the state. The future is set. No climbing back up the hill. Dirty politics is and will always be successful politics.

Bank on Charlie Crist winning next time around.

All one can do is ignore it all and live your life the best you can. Seek out the good and enjoy.

Yup.... I'm the opposite too. I actually don't think FL is quite heading in that direction just yet. Getting bluer for sure, but overall it's still a very moderate state imo and that's just perfect.

Remember, the income tax is forbidden in the constitution. You'll probably see pot and gay marriage legalized in FL before you see an income tax

I find the Tampa Bay area economically conservative and socially liberal.......for now.

More Democratic due to the Yankees moving down here.

However, it's mostly the larger urban counties that are blue, while the rest of the FL is mostly red.

Good thing for you since you've lived in this state less than a year and we're already paying for you. Nice plan. I'm sure all your millionaire neighbors in your premier neighborhood will be impressed.

I think it will stay the same as now. I think that Florida has a pretty socially liberal population, but they aren't going to give up their ultra low taxes for those socially liberal causes. lol.

Looking back, there are a few things I voted for that would be considered liberal that the people of Florida voted down overwhelmingly. The light rail in Tampa got shot down by a big shot, for instance. I don't think Tampa will ever get any form of rapid transit which is sad because the city so needs it. It is the largest metropolitan area in the developed world without any form of rapid transit!

I find that hard to believe. Doesn't Houston or Dallas beat it out?
