I moved from Massachusetts to California because I wanted a place with nice weather and a different atmosphere... I like it out here a lot but when you move from my part of Mass where you can find a 3 bedroom apartment for $650 a month and move out here where a 1 bedroom can go for $1200 or more its pretty ridiculous. So I was thinking about Florida but I don't know to much about it and have only been there a few times to visit.

Its a broad question but me and my girlfriend are both in our 20s and I was wondering which cities are the nicest to live in at our age. Are there any nice cities with moderate rent cost. Preferably a city that is upbeat and has things to do, a nice area to live in, and not ridiculously high rent.

All I've checked out that I think might be all right is Tampa so any info on where nice, fun, and affordable places are in Florida would really help. Thanks.

Well, the good news is that with the collapse of the housing market, rents are coming down.

You need to come here, rent a car, and drive all around to see what you might like.

The good thing is there are plenty of income restricted apts which you will probably get because the jobs here suck. Also rent is still pretty high, depends on the complex though.

St. Petersburg probably has the best compromise between what you are looking for and price range. Not as sure about specifics, maybe somebody else could chime in?

Lots of young people in and around that area. St Pete feels a little crowded to me, but I think I'd get used to it.
