The slow sales of homes is driving down the state budget...

How is this going to affect us?

Florida's economists are expected Tuesday to lower their forcasts for how much money the state is alloted to for the first time in several years due to a slowdown in the housing boom that's fueled Florida's economy.

Economists update the state's incoming tax estimate twice a year, projecting how much the state can expect to collect so lawmakers know how much they have to work with when writing the budget.

Wow, the title of that article is very misleading, as Florida does not have a (state) Income tax. They are actually talking about all incoming tax revenues, as opposed to an income tax. But we can only hope that our lawmakers will think twice about wasteful spending and make the most of the state's revenue.

They should have been saving their windfall, I am looking forward to the government cutting back it's size and "services" . Nothing has gotten better around here!
