I’m not a millionaire and I don’t make 250K a year (far from it). I have done well in life but that was not always the case.

I grew up Lower Middle class – did well in school but did not attend collage. I was lucky to intern on Wall Street which led to a successful career. Then in my thirties lost everything and I do mean everything.

20 years later and a lot of hard work even to this day and a positive attitude UNDERLINE POSITIVE ATTITUDE and I can afford to live nicely here in Fla, however there are no guarantees that it will always be that way.

Many of you are right – there is a middle class squeeze in Fla as with other prime areas of the country and it is becoming haves and have nots as with other areas of the country.

The haves would prefer to NOT see trailer parks next to their nice gated communities nor see homeless in the streets near where they live and I suspect that just like NY SF LA Boston, Chicago and other cities the nots will be pushed out. It’s economic externalities at play.

If you want to improve yourself and your family complaining about it is not going to solve the issue nor will it keep the HAVES from coming.

If you don’t like it here and things are so terrible here then maybe you should consider moving maybe it would be better - but without a positive attitude I doubt it!!!

Thank You! Well said!
In life there are things you can change, and things you can't change. Sitting idle, complaining, does nothing to help the situation. You either make a change or change your attitude!

Shores9, finally someone had the guts to say it. Agree.
"yesterday is history and tomorrow but a promise".

Yesterday belongs to history; tomorrow belongs to God. Yesterday’s a fading sunset; tomorrow’s a faint sunrise. Only today is there light enough to love and live.

So, gently close the door on yesterday and throw the key away. It isn’t the burdens of today that drive men mad, but rather the regret over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow.

“Relish the moment” is a good motto[/CENTER]

The thing is, many of the Florida naysayers have moved.
They just keep posting here over and over again--which of course they have every right to do.
I think it is good to discuss Florida's problems; what disappoints me is when polite discussion deteriorates into scoring points off each other and/or having grim, morose comments invade every single new thread.
No doubt it feels good to have a place to vent.
It's just that it begins to pall; I am sure some folks are driven away by the negativity.

I completely agree Cil, in fact, I come here much less now then I used to. I used to find it a very interesting forum, with all angles of the Florida landscape, so to speak. I just got sick of every thread being invaded by clowns trying to force feed their opinions. It's one thing to have an intelligent contribution to a conversation, but to completely berate people because they have dreams and/or differing opinions is just juvenile and assenine.

Cil good point - I've noticed that as well. Many posters say they have moved and at the same time are talking trash on Fla.

Maybe their not happy with their move either or maybe there not happy with themselves. I think it boils down to positive attitude.... If you have it the world’s a lot better place

very nice shores9......
the fact is that people either can afford to live here or they can not. its always been the way everywhere throughout the country.
those who can not are complaining. thats fine but it also will solve nothing.
