Hi - I'm considering a move to Citrus Springs and wondered if anyone had any info about it they'd like to share? The houses are reasonable, but it is a distance from the beach and stores. I'd prefer living close to the beach but don't want to pay for hurricane and flood insurance. I'm just wondering if it's too far away from everything. Does anyone have anything they'd like to share?

Everyone pays for hurricane insurance in Florida, it's part of your homeowner's policy. Living closer to the coast isn't an automatic for flood insurance either as it's based on factors that include elevation and drainage. Citrus Springs is remote and probably fine if you don't need anything beyond Walmart and fast food chains for the most part. If you want proximity to the beach, check out Seminole, Belleair Bluffs and the west side of neighboring Largo in Pinellas County. It's pretty much all a no-flood area minutes to the beaches and all kinds of shops/restaurants.

Thanks. We're wondering if it will be too quiet there. I'll check out the places you recommend. I appreciate it.
