This is an interesting dynamic of seeing Venezuelans, who in 2010, was a smaller, but still visible group in FL, start to almost eclipse the largest South American group, which was Colombians for the longest time. The recent strife between Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the citizens has caused a very massive migration to not just America, but in other places such as Spain, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, Canada, Germany, and even the Netherlands Antilles (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao) and as far as Syria and Lebanon.
The highest concentration of Venezuelan migrants is in Trinidad and Tobago, where Venezuelans already make up to 4% of the total population of that twin island country.

In some places, such as Duval, Orange, Osceola, & Polk Counties, Venezuelans, as of 2022, are the largest South American group over Colombians, and in Hillsborough, Lee, & Miami-Dade, Counties, Venezuelans are just a few thousand people away from displacing Colombians as the largest South American group, with 380K people of Venezuelans descent residing in FL in comparison to the 444K people of Colombian descent in FL. Especially in Spain, Venezuelans are the fastest growing group in that country, to the point where it seems like they might surpass Romanians as the third largest foreign group after surpassing Ecuadorians in Spain (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogr...#Ethnic_groups). The only state in the US where Venezuelans are the largest South American group is TX, if I may recall.

I believe that as long as Maduro is in power, the Venezuelan economy continues to struggle, Biden remains the president after 2024, and the southern US-Mexico border is porous, Venezuelans are going to continue to come. I don't support the uncontrolled migration of any peoples, but this is a fascinating change of demography that I've ever seen. It may also be apparent that when it comes to politics, Venezuelans may be a future force in local politics wherever they go (NY, DC, Chicago, Houston, and Miami).

Biden just put the fill stop on Venezuelans coming here. If they try, they will be returned.
