I have a lot of friends, family, former co-workers etc., from out of state that are emailing me and calling me telling me to vote because FL is a battleground state.

I'm not looking to turn this into a candidate debate, I just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and how they felt about it.

I find it completely freakin' annoying.

I totally understand how you feel. I especially dislike when people like to talk politics, give their slanted views on things, and then get annoyed when you don't agree with them.

I am voting on Election Day. I don't trust Early Voting.

Nope. As soon as people bring it up I tell them simply: "I don't vote." That usually stifles them. If it doesn't, I tell them: "There isn't a single candidate out there that DESERVES my vote."

Why voluntarily give other people power over you, if you're a free man?

Shameful.
Citizens have two obligations to their country. Jury duty and voting. Pretty simple things to do.

If you don't care about politics, or you are just ignorant about government, DO NOT VOTE. There is no reason to, and frankly you shouldn't. Honestly, the fewer people that vote the better, because then only the most informed and knowledgeable will vote.

While I will agree that having friends and family call you to try and persuade you to vote one way or another would absolutely be annoying... I would certainly encourage everyone to vote. It is your privilege and right as a citizen of a democracy. There are plenty of ways to educate yourself on the issues. Print, web, television...

I'm not saying that I will or will not vote, or, if I do, who I will vote for. I am simply expressing frustration that I *have* to (according to the harassers) vote one way or another becuase, "it will be close."

Florida is a swing state and that is not my problem. It could be a landslide or close election, but if I write in Kermit the Frog, that is my right.
