Most of the people here who hang this flag are white and are not even from the south. Some are from Ohio and Michigan and even hate Florida.
In parts of California and the north west the flag is an invitation to war with certain neighbors and is a symbol of racism to some and brings up the whole slavery thing. I have seen people from the midwest who think this flag is a fashion statement.

Yes, stay away from small town Florida. If you are in a major city you will be fine. My sister is married to a black man and they had to leave their house which was in suburban Tampa becaue of threats.

dont be offended by Confederate flags because they are all over Florida. Not so much in the Miami area but everywhere else. Tampa has the worlds largest Confederate flag on I-75
