How are all my friends and former debate opponents? I am moving back to FL again... go ahead make fun. It's for a job I was offered. How are things in FL lately? I haven't been on CD in a long while.

same ol' really. getting hot already. 86 today (orlando). people are angry, aggressive on the roads, senseless crimes, road rage, same old place.

but it's gotta be better than where you came from b/c "you dont have to shovel snow in FL."

Sorry, frustrating day. Watching the local news always gets me in a bad mood. Sorry.

In this economy a person has to go wherever they need to for employment. No shame in moving somewhere for a job. At least you are not moving here for the weather, lol.

Best of luck to you and hopefully things work out for the best.

You are right, Lakeland Yankee. For a job offer, especially in this economy, you gotta do what ya gotta do. Even if that means move to another state; I'm prepared myself to leave for a better job. I work in Real estate Development, and it's all but dried up man. If I can get a job in Nc or somewhere where I know it's more stable, I am prepared. I like NC a lot anyway, so it's not like I would be moving to a place I dislike.

Let's see.... North Carolina Unemployment rate is 9.3%, which I believe is actually higher than Florida's.

If Florida has that god awful "tourism and real estate economy" that is contributing to ITS woes, than what accounts for the "stable" economy of North Carolina, which is NOT tourist and real estate based ..... being worse?

NC Stable?? I dont think so HOP....our economy here is awful and our unemployment is higher than yours, and Wachovia/Wells is now going to be making some more announcements here in the up coming weeks....so with that being said, "grass isnt always greener on the other side" so one of the dads on the car rider line told me this morning at school..they moved from Weston thinking it was UTOPIA here and found out real quick it isnt...

Im going to give u the same advice people seem to give on this board: you cant get a feel for living here, until u do?? how do u know you will Love living here??

Im surprised with all the Floridians here that thre are actually people left in Florida...its unreal

Like Florida, North Carolina (particularly Charlotte area) greatly boomed during the past 15 - 20 years. The businesses that relocated to this region were largely swayed by the tax incentives and lower labor costs. Some, if not many, were not solvent nor thriving businesses prior to relocation.

Many have suggested that Florida take the steps to attract new business to the state by offering lucrative tax breaks and sweet real estate (cheap) opportunities in exchange for the promises of bringing better paying jobs. The jobs promised never seem to be as plentiful, well-paying, nor secure. The state of North Carolina is feeling these effects now, and Florida needs to recognize their mistakes

Florida has a marketable entity that no other state can replicate.... an active 12 month vacation destination not extensively limited by climate, with miles of desirable waterfront/ beach properties. Were it not for greed and abuse of its resources, Florida could and should be one of the most employable states in the country.... not one at/near the top for unemployment/underemployment.

Ahhhh, my motto is "never say never!" Welcome back, my friend! And congrats on getting a job in this economy. I am just glad for you that you didn't get yourself into a permanent situation by buying property up north, which would have made it so much harder to relocate. It's too bad you missed our nice winter and we are heading into summer weather real soon now, but I know you know what to expect. At least having a job here will allow you to enjoy the GOOD things this state has to offer. When you coming down?
