I live in Parrish and they are bad here! I recently moved from Charleston Sc and they are there too so I knew what they were but want this bad in SC except for out on the islands.

We invested in a shop-vac and have to vacuum the lanai EVERY night. there are literally hundreds and hundreds dead on the patio.

I told my daughter they were called love bugs because they were 2 bugs hugging each other as they fly around LOL

I have lived in the Southeastern Florida cities of Miami Beach, Miami, and Boca Raton for about fifty years. I had never seen lovegbugs until l traveling North from Miami Beach to Daytona in 1964. As I recall, they seem to attack the car at about Melbourne. I now live in Vero Beach and have seen quite a few here as well as Port St. Lucie. It seems to me that they are more prevalent in the centter of the state and up and down both coasts but do not seem to go furher south than Palm Beach County on the East or Collier County on the West Coast. Anyone have any additional information?

Maybe all of the recent rain in the central part of the state has drowned them or knocked them down, but they seem to be pretty much gone for the year....???

If they're gone it's because we brought them all back to NY on the front of my car this week
