I find it odd you are leaving via st. augustine, its very small but a beautiful must see. Living in florida before and having visited almost every major area and all their surrounding areas i would definitely say, coming into miami, you will not have a dull moment, expect to be almost choked by the humidity and weather at that time a year, also on your way north i would hit palm beach. Orlando is obviously a fun filled good time, and daytona is just an hour-hour and a half drive north and worth visiting. Their beach is fun, lots of entertainment, bars, and of course the track to see. You can also from there take the BEAUTIFUL drive up A1A north instead of the non scenic I-95 trip into St. Augustine. You can continue just north of St. Augustin to the state park located on the beach, its beautiful and natural, the dunes feel like mountains when standing atop them, Its just a sight that everyone should take in. To the north of the park is Ponte Vedra Beach and jacksonville beach, they all have cool things to do, and of course beaches which i personally think are beautiful, but you will be experiencing the best beaches first down in South Florida. All and in all the trip you have planned does sound fantastic, but definitely unfortunate to not visit the west coast, the beauty of that area is well worth a trip of its own. Have funnnnn!
