Good day everyone. I wanted to inquire about a good place to live for my mother. My mom has a little bit of time in the Federal Gov't left and wanted to retire to Florida. Areas of interest are Jacksonville and Tampa. Of course she is opened to other locations as well

Here are her requirements.

- Reasonable rent (500-700 max)
- a veterans hospital near by
- Safe location
- Any chance to get a Federal Job in Florida?

If this is reasonable or unreasonable let me know. I just wanted to gather some information for my mother. Thanks in advance for your time.

That price range for rent is going to be the catch i think ; you can get that in the Panhandle near Pensacola (inland) . Veterans hospital ok with a huge AirForce Base called Eglin nearby , and if you choose a suburb like Milton, Pace, Crestview, Baker , Laurel Hill ... its going to be safe and more affordable living as compared to Tampa.

Depends on how close to a VA, but Seminole is older friendly, safe, good apartment complexes and within about five miles of VA at Bay Pines. I have elderly friends who live in Costa Del Sol Apts in Seminole. This is Pinellas County - Tampa Bay area.
