I'm not a big fan of the Chicago Dog - too much stuff on it - distracts from the dog itself. That said:

Sabretts Hot Dog, mustard, sauerkraut (LOL - it wouldn't let me put "k r a u t") and Sabretts Onion Sauce. Pretty much what you get in an authentic dirty water dog cart.

Nothing makes a good hot dog because the absolute worst meat goes into the frank, animal parts that should be thrown away, and then they're pumped full of nitrates and sodium and dyes, so one may as well be drinking embalming fluid.

I gave up hot dogs many, many years ago when I realized they were not something I wanted in my body. Ick!

I like to put my hot dogs in slow cooker and add my favorite chili to it. Either homemade or bought. Let the hot dogs simmer slowly, on low.

I get the hand made franks from Bavarian Sausage online, their Old Fashion Natural Casing Wieners are TASTY! Pricey but worth every penny. They're the type that snap when you bite into them. I envision little chunky German women making each one lovingly by hand.

The first replie had it right, HEBREW NATIONAL ! You wont find any questionable ingreadients in those dads. I like the Kosher knockwurst Grilled on a webber then wrapped in a warm fresh flour tortilla, no condements needed. Quick and easy for the kids and a no fuss camping item.
