Chicken, marinated in seasoned buttermilk for 24 hours, breaded then deep fried, potato salad , corn fresh from my field and biscuits. Pecan pie for dessert. That's our version here but it ALL sounds good!
Damn, now i'm hungry.
Silly me, I forgot all about the cornbread dressing and cream gravy!
Not to change the subject but have any of ya'll ever tried fried gator tail? No, it doesn't taste like chicken but it's still darn good.

Case44, let's party! Ask your mom what time we should come over. I'm ready for some home-made fried chicken!
Publix here makes the BEST fried chicken - I bought some the other day and really pigged out - it's just addictive! I will say that I don't eat it too often - can't afford too many of those pigouts!
The problem I have with fried chicken is that there were two places that had super delicious fried chicken that I ate at every chance. But I found out both were deep fried in pork lard. Now I have nothing against pork or lard, but the idea of eating all that pork lard kind of turned me off. Now, my gourmet son says he can make fried chicken as good as the pork lard stuff, but I just don't get the same great taste and crispiness. So, fried chicken (the pork lard kind) is on my once in a while list, like prime rib and pork barbeque.
