It's 3.30pm and my husband just left to go play with his friends. No, he's not 12. They play electric guitar, bass, drums, blah blah blah... and drink my husband's homebrew. Boys will be boys, even when they're 39 to 40-something, I guess.

They'll grab a bite to eat after they make each other's ears bleed, so I'm on my own.

Mac 'n cheese is calling my name. Y'know... the kind from THE BOX! Yes, that's what I said... mac 'n cheese from the box! Don't judge me. It's comfort food.

Very simple - I just drizzle some olive oil on them, sprinkle liberally with whatever spices I want - sometimes I use a wet marinade and sometimes not - and then just place in a single layer in a foil wrapped baking pan. Bake at 375 for about an hour. How do you do yours?

Great dinner tonight and I didn't have to cook any of it: crab bisque, blackened orange roughy, fried shrimp, chicken salad, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, salad, dinner rolls, and apple cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. I don't need to eat for a week!

You think that beats my box of mac 'n cheese, don't you?

Oh. It does. It really, really does. Yours sounds like it was delicious.

Mine does beat yours, DandJ, but I will eat mac and cheese any day (just not out of a box)! LOL

hey, my granddaughter and I am not talking 12, I am talding late 20s loves it out of the box. When she was maybe 12, I had her and the best friend over for dinner for her birthday. I did a really awesome mac and cheese with 4 cheeses: guess what? She wasn't imprressed at all.

I have them in now: yes about an hour or at least 50 minutes but I put the hot sauce on 1/2 of them and the rest in parmasen (spelling) and egg yoke with a little buttermilk. I think either yours or mine would be great!!!!

Kids! What do they know, right?

Y'know what, though? Sometimes that out-of-the-box mac 'n cheese just hits the spot. Not afterwards, though, when my stomach is flip-flopping.
