It doesn't matter if a person is lactose intolerant or not, they can drink all the milk they wish to. There's lactose free milk commonly available most everywhere.
This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time, I nearly snorted milk when I read the "cat in the milk comment". I too wondered if the puss had fallen in the milk.
We drink a lot of low-fat milk, hormone-free milk, nearly a gallon a day. That is the only difference between now and the 80's. What a bizarre comparison, I didn't vote because it made no sense.
I love a glass of cold milk but it has to be organic as most non organic milks ( not all but most ) seem to have a vaguely artificial chemical taste. Semi skimmed for me, Full fat is too creamy , non fat too watery. Perfect with a chocolate chip cookie or brownie.
I drink it with certain foods. Chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, Oreos... Sometimes goes good with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
EXACTLY THIS. Milk is great with all of the above (and cereal, I suppose - I don't eat much cereal).
I am mildly lactose intolerant so one glass of milk or one milkshake or one yogurt won't bother me...but more than that and I'll be gassy doubled-over in pain.
Do they still make pills for lactose intolerance? I had a roommate who would have major gastric disturbance from dairy, but if she popped a Lactaid, she was good to go.
