recently me and my family went to ruth chris. as a side dish, we got the sweet potato casserole. this thing was incredibly delicious, we should have gotten 5 of them. one thing i said was that all potatoes should be sweet potatoes. i dont even know why they grow regular potatoes.

We love sweet potatoes in our home also. I was speaking to our dd yesterday in So. NJ, she asked me if we would bring up Purple Sweet potatoes when we visit next month. If you go to Whole Foods or a similar market, they probably have them. Purple Sweet potatoes are so much sweeter than regular sweet potatoes and so delicious.

I love potatoes and its has been suggested that I make sweet potatoes instead, but I like gravy ...chicken or beef - with whatever entree I make - that's the only reason I don't make them instead.

I LOVE sweet potato fries, much better than regular fries!

But I also love cheese/chili/bacon/ ooey gooey goodness on my fries and sour cream, butter, chili, cheese, bacon on my baked potatoes that you just can't do with sweet potatoes. Which is why it's so great that I can choose both if necessary! (so many carbs!)

I only make fancy ones at Thanksgiving, but we frequently have baked sweet potatoes...either in the oven or microwaved. Almost always have them with pork chops.
