I eat pb&p sandwiches a lot myself - I use the hamburger dill chips.

OK, I finally tried this, after all these years of hearing about this sandwich.

Lightly toasted a piece of rye, topped with peanut butter and 3 pickle chips, folded, and ate.

It was pretty good, I must admit.

I suppose I'll have to try the peanut butter and mustard I claimed I would never try (3 years ago in the PB&M thread), but that still sounds bad.

Had an uncle who ate peanut butter and ketchup sandwiches. Never tried them but once made a pb& cheddar. It was so filling that I could only eat half the sandwich.

Nope.

I don't like pickles, and am not adventurous when it comes to food. Generally, the simpler and more separate my foods are, the better.

I did have a roommate once who liked peanut butter, jelly, and cheddar cheese sandwiches. (This same roommate shrieked with disgust for almost half an hour once when she saw me butter a toasted brown sugar/cinnamon Pop-Tart. Which is admittedly a little weird, I guess, but I grew up watching my dad eat them that way, so for me, it was completely ordinary.)

I'm pretty sure I invented this.

Creamy peanut butter.
Sliced sweet gerkins.
Soft bread of your choice.
If you want a little fresh kick, use bread and butter pickles instead.

Awesome. Been eating these for decades.

Try a Ritz cracker with one slice pepperoni and one slice sweet pickle at your next party. I could inhale those.

no but I grew up on peanut butter and mayo sandwiches. Today I can't handle it.

I do love pickles and have them every day with my lunch but as a side on not on the sandwich.

I've never had one, for good reason.
I heard it from a local doctor. When she was a child in school, in TX, she said "everyone during the break was walking around, dipping pickles into Kool Aid powder. I tried it and it was real good".
Just passing the word.
No, it was Kool Aid powder.
