I really got sick once when I ate at McDonalds in Lewisporte. I've never went back there since and never will. I eat at McDonalds very occasionally - 1-2 times a year, if that. The food is awful, the service is worse and the restaurant itself is just generally filthy.

McDonald's could serve caviar and it still wouldn't be a fit place to eat.

I've always liked McDonalds in moderation, especially for breakfast. I go there for lunch once a week, since I can parfait, mchicken, fries for $3.

There seems to be a perception of this tug-of-war with customers between the two companies. I wonder if McDonalds will succeed but just converting people who would never buy a latte, and maybe taking a small slice of the customer base from Starbucks and other coffee houses.

Also, McDonalds has succeeded in stepping into Starbucks (and Dunkin/Peetes Seattle's best, etc) territory with offering premium coffee, but does anyone know if Starbucks foray into breakfast items (Breakfast sandwiches) been successful. Lately, I've noticed starbucks employees upselling, asking if I want any pastries/bagels/sandwiches/etc with my order, and im thinking to myself,"what the heck, am I in McDonalds or something?"

I totally agree. I haven't eaten at McDonalds (or any fast food) in many years. It's all crap, wrapped in trash!

Post News, McDonald's to launch bigger, $4 Angus burgers.

NEW YORK (AP) — McDonald's will begin selling a line of bigger burgers priced about $4 each on Thursday to bring in customers looking for a beefy alternative to pricier burgers at sit-down restaurants.

Probably not a bad idea since so many adults eat there for lunch and are stuck there for dinner with the kids. If they can keep a combo meal for less than $8-9 dollars, it should be a winner.

I heard about this back in January, and agree with GloryB on it being a good idea. Like usual, they'll probably make it better than BK.

Do you think they are any match to Chilis, Bennigans, Red Robin, Applebees who I think all offer super cheap burgers and lunch options that already come with fries?

I've heard about it. That angus burger is 590 calories. Add fries and a drink, and what are you talking.

Fast food, in my opinion, is so unhealthy.

If McDonald's were really smart they would make the
regular burger the same size as the bun

They forgot where they came from
