When I was in Michigan , Frankenmuth , is a Bavarian village. It is known more for chicken dinners , but it also serves German food . The village also has German sausage , and cheese stores . A very popular tourist area .
Frankenmuth is still going strong. It is east of I-75 . from the Birch Run exit . Zehndeer ( sp ) family owns most of the big restaurants . They also have lot's of festivals held in the summer months .
Well, we tried several and gave up. I rather spend time in the kitchen and serve the real stuff. There are always friends and neighbors willing to eat it. Opening a restaurant - oh no!
Klingler's in Birmingham was an experience not to be repeated.
I am headed off the Helen in the next 3-4 weeks so I will be sure to report back with all the details
Or threestep can cook us dinner? Just a thought...

Or...!!! Again, you just come to the Old German Schnitzel Haus.....they have the real Schweine Haxe ( Pork Hax ) and more. And just for jkmewright, I would like to list all the other Oktoberfest Specials, but I am afraid he is hungry again so I skip that part.
I got a good German Restaurant here.... but still would like to go.
