Turkey and the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan). They were not on the list, but Iran is probably similar, so i checked that, although I don't remember eating any desserts there.
Well, the good, old USA, of course......because we are a melting pot of all the others!
Desserts from any Bavarian country are really good....
French desserts are very pretty but not as tasty as Bavarian desserts.
Mexican desserts aren't sweet enough for palates which are used to more...

* Biscotto, amaretto? Sorry, I do not know Italian but think those are the singular.
Got my vote.
Only in America can you fine ALL of the worlds fine cuisines in their traditional forms and the continuing evolution of those fine traditions including desserts.
I don't know whether to include the US as an option but I guess I will. List the typical American desserts (apple pie, sundaes.etc). Actually on second thought maybe American/French are on par.
What you forget is that in the larger US cities, you can pretty much find any dessert that you will find across the world. Everything from a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte to a Durian ice cream. Or a paczki on Fat Tuesday.
This is impossible to answer, or only by someone who has been in ALL those countries, tried their desserts AND is a food connoisseur.
In my opinion all Mediterranean countries have excellent desserts. (Yes, I tried many)

But only in ethnic stores/restaurants and even there they are not 100% authentic.
With sweets is the same like with food... they are Americanized. Not to forget that sometimes is impossible to find exactly the same ingredients.

There is something about Thai desserts that is just so awesome... they are light, but rich, and sweet but not to sweet... they are balanced. They are just really amazing, but hard to find in the states.
My favorite is the very basic mango and sticky rice! Aaah!! I could eat that every day. Sometimes I do make it for breakfast! It's wonderful when it's done right. And fortunately most Thai places in the states at the very least serve this one!
I just recently discovered the mango sticky rice and now I'm addicted. I guess it is because I tend to lean more towards the fruity desserts and not much for heavy pastries and cakes.
In my opinion, the US. Countries I've been to outside of the US include France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Canada. I think the US has the best desserts out of all of them...and our high obesity rate proves me right.
