Seems like a good year here. Hondo corn, from near San Antonio is 6/$1 at the supermarket 150 miles away, and is very sweet. It's been available for a couple of weeks, but the price just went down.

I think they are overdoing the sweetness of corn, with every year new hybrids with higher and higher sugar content. It's almost like eating candy now.

It was really good and sweet last year. What I've had so far this year was good also.

Getting really good sweet corn in Gallup, NM is very difficult. Sometimes Albertsons and Safeway has some that "just came in " but one has to be there on the day it comes it. The fresh corn from Colorado isn't due for a while and is very good.

My corn that I grow started out great in the out building under the lights; but when planted it and covered it lasted for about a week until some "unknow" desperado kicked the buckets over and ate it all...

So, watch the stores and wait.
Oh, btw the "crap" that Walmart sends in is soooo bad, dried up I can't imagine anyone buying it, but they do as they don't know any thing else?////

What I've seen doesn't look good at all and it's expensive.

Kroger had 3 or 4/dollar and they are small, dried out ears.

Terrific corn this year. Some of it is very sweet. On the other hand, that corn still tastes very good after a few days in the refrigerator.

Local corn call Brentwood Supersweet(The best corn in the nation) wont be ready until August. Will usually start seeing California white eating corn ready in mid July when you can pick you ten huge ears for a buck.

All sweet corn that we have had this year so far has been good. We grill our corn and when it's almost done I put a small amount of butter on the corn and it's delicious....

you are making me want to cry..I was talking to my daughter about this a couple days ago while she and I were busy canning. Here it is just the opposite: the corn has been fair, but not good and the cheapest it has been is 3 for a buck. Most of the time it is .50 to .75 an ear...I still have hope we will get some better and cheaper before long. Usually from mid May until July we get Florida corn but this year because they had their drought before Debbie hit, we haven't gotten any or much.
