How do you handle it when you have yummy snacks or treats in your cupboard? Perhaps a bag of chips, some chocolate chip cookies, a quart of ice cream in the freezer - whatever your particular weakness may be.

How much temptation do such things cause you?

I'm in 100% control of my snacking. Sometimes a canister of crisps can last me for weeks (Pringles, Stax).
I've got pork rinds on top of my refrigerator from 2009. But(!), I also will gobble down an entire box of Crunch & Munch or Fiddle Faddle in one sitting.....it just depends on what I feel like doing.
I've been enjoying a little box of Junior Mints for about 7 months now. There's one left.

I can keep my snacking under control about 75 %. However I don't buy many treats and snacks that are tempting because I am doing WW and I don't want my 55 lb weight loss to go down the toilet.I did buy some snacks for Sunday because I am having people for dinner. I put them in a cupboard that is above the fridge, out of sight out of mind until then.

Snacks, sweets are easy for me......but a bowl of shrimp cocktail won't last

I've always been the type to have another piece of steak than dessert.

not a big fan of chips, but like sunflower seeds to munch on.

I am pretty good 99% of the time, I tend to even forget we have stuff but then occasionally for no reason at all I will just have a craving and then will make a beeline for a small packet of crisps ( potato chips). Sweet snacks could remain in my cupboards for months on end.

Hubby on the other hand cannot resist snacks and there is no holding him back. I often buy some biscuits or chocolate thinking I am at least entitled to half of it and forget about, then a couple of months later think " Mmm I could really have a couple of biscuits right now" and of course it is all gone with my beloved looking at me with a " What?!?!" expression on his face not even a hint of guilt on him !

Apparently according to him I am "un-natural" and should not expect snacks to last. That apparently is wildly unreasonable and rather weird... He finds my lack of interest in snacks deeply suspicious and has often told me he would not be surprised if I was an Alien. I am told nobody who is normal and human can have biscuits, crisps , etc... in their house and leave it for months....

Cheese is my weakness and I try not to have it in the house very often because I have no self control when it comes to cheeses.... I have yet to meet a cheese I did not like apart from Cottage cheese which is an insult to the Cheese World IMO.

I tend to fluctuate between the 2nd and 3rd choices, and it doesn't have to be just in the cupboard area either. Hint: freezer - Edy's Limited Edition, peppermint Now we're talking 2nd helpings in same sitting Oh yeah. [giggles]

Lucky for me I'm not home all the time or some of those items would be calling my name and I would at times succomb to their wishes.

luckily I am not a sweet eater except maybe during the holidays and on a cruise. My problem is the salty stuff. Our pantry is in the laundry room which really helps, out of sight, out of mind thank God. Hubby is't a as disciplines as I am when it comes to snacks..When it comes to the wine at night, he is much better than me.

I guess 'none of the above' for me. I generally don't keep unhealthy snacks around to be honest. If I want a snack, and I dont feel like having an apple or carrots or brocoli, then I just figure I must not be that hungry.

The best way to avoid eating the bad stuff is to just not keep it around. My SO on the other hand, like to buy all thsoe chips and cookies and stuff and can't keep the hands off them when they are in the house. I just keep saying 'if it wasnt here / you didnt buy it, you wouldnt be tempted!' Plus when you're out and about and are at a place/party that has that stuff, then eating there makes it an even better treat, since you dont usually have it.

It is not a real issue I have to worry about. I'm a constant feeder (never killed the old metab), so those things get munched on whenever I so desire.

No, I am not even close to being overweight. And no, I don't exercise all of the time. I also do not participate in any body abusive behaviors (excessive exercising, taking diet pills/energy supplements/steroids, up-chucking, etc., etc.).

The fact is that because I have never been into dieting, I have kept my metab healthy and strong. I can pretty much eat all day, and even most of the night (sometimes I wake up to feed during the night). My thyroid levels and all blood stats are normal.
