Do you guys like it? I got some at the store yesterday (this is my 2nd attempt) and I REALLY want to like it because people keep saying it's so good for you! But it has the consistency of sour cream and it tastes kind of sour, and I'm having trouble getting on board with it. Is it an aquired taste perhaps?
I use the fat free greek yogurt AS sour cream. Or I add spices and flavorings and use it as a drizzling sauce.
I also use it to make things like chicken or salmon salad (yogurt, dill, kalmata olives, lemon zest and juice, etc.)
Or use it over granola, with fruit and honey. Or, I'll flavor it with ginger/basil and sweetener and use it the same way.
If you add vanilla and sugar it tastes like cheesecake.
It takes to flavorings well.
Otherwise, I'm not really a fan of flavored yogurt.

Not only do I not like Greek Yogurt, I'm mad that the only place nearby that sold YoCrunch strawberry-banana with granola, no longer sells it. And instead, they have candy crunch strawberry, and greek yogurt with granola crunch.
Thankfully, Danon's banana strawberry is still normal low-fat yogurt. So I've returned to my old standby. Strawberrry-banana is the only yogurt taste I actually like - though I might buy an occasional strawberry if the banana combo wasn't available.
I buy plain Greek yogurt, it is definitely an acquired taste if eaten by itself though some brands are less sour than others. I can eat it plain just fine but usually I'll throw in some almonds or chopped fruit. I use it on potatoes and omelettes, too.

i dont really get yogurt anyway since i avoid snacking and its not something i can eat as a meal.
The only reason it's expensive is because it's still a fairly new craze and people are willing to pay a premium, though prices seem to have gone down a bit in the last two or three years. My grocery store carries 32 ounce tubs of it for $3 a pop, so I stopped buying the regular stuff.
My Greek cookbook says that for homemade yogurt use a teaspoon or so of your favorite yogurt added to warm milk. The twist is to a little evaporated milk to boost nutrition and keep it warm until it thickens.
Even our vet said a little yogurt is good for our cat!
I tried some Greek yogurt for the first time last week. I'm sorry to say that I was NOT impressed. I'll just stick to regular yogurt. The Greek yogurt didn't have enough flavor for me, and I bought a cup of honey flavor and a cup of vanilla flavor.

it's like sour cream in taste but supposedly better for your insides. i like to take it with vitamins because i think it helps activate the vitamins. i also use it to cool down hot mac and cheese
I love Greek yogurt but it needs to be mixed with a fruit otherwise it's just sour tasting.
