The only thing that I think is a good sugar "substitute" that doesn't seem to spike blood sugar is fresh stevia leaves, not overly processed stevia power. They're on sale at many nurseries around this time of year.
I use Zulka Morena sugar. I was using the common white granulated sugar but after trying some of this stuff i wont go back.
I googled it and read a bit about it, but what about it makes you like it better? Does it actually taste better than other sugar, or do you like that it is less processed, or....???
The biggest problem with artificial sweeteners is that it tricks your body into thinking it is getting some sweet and calorie dense food but then it doesn't get the calories it anticipated. I think this will just make you hungrier. I have tried Stevia and that seemed to make me hungry and crave carbs. I will just have sugar in moderation and attempt to limit its intake.
