Chicken is the fruit of the fry-basket - there's skillet-fried, there's deep-fried, there's pressure-fried, there's battered and fried, there's breaded and fried, there's brined and fried, there's buttermilk-fried, there's mild, there's spicy, there's chicken and waffles...

Brings to mind a line in the movie "Forrest Gump" .

To me, basically pan-fried and deep fried. Everything else is mostly some variation on that.
