They're made near here, in St. Joseph, MO, and they're widely carried around here. Never had one, though.
Oh my! Perhaps you'll try one sometime?
I just don't know if they are as good as in the old days, as I haven't been able to locate any for a long time, living out here on the Left Coast....

I used to like Heath bars but now they don't taste buttery anymore. Skorr's do so I switched to them.
I bought a bar of very dark chocolate with tart dried cherries in it at Walgreens about a year ago and it was so good I went back for more but they never had them again. I thought it was Green and Black's but I can't find one online.
What I did find online made me very happy, though. Many years ago I bought a Macintosh toffee bar in Canada and it was pure heaven. Never saw them again. But today when I googled I see that Nestles makes them and they have begun to make them again. I'm going to order a box for a Christmas present to myself. Let's hope they haven't begun to scrimp on good ingredients.
I'm not a fan of American chocolate I do however like Paydays
My favourite chocolate is UK Cadbury's milk chocolate, UK Rowntree Yorkie bars and Crunchies. I stock up either at world market or when I visit home, have found Yorkies in our local Meijer.
