I'm going out to my garden tomorrow morning and pick a big mess of Collards to serve with Black Eyed Peas and Ham for dinner. Every one knows you have got to have greens and black eyed peas on New Years Day in order to have money the rest of the year. It has always worked and I'm not going to tempt fate.
Any one else serve any thing special on New Years day?

My folks have done that for years. I'm having black eye peas tonight as part of my party menu and tomorrow I will use the ham bone I saved from Christmas to make more. You just reminded me that I actually do have frozen collard greens and I'll make those tomorrow too. Happy New Year to you!

Lots of coffee, an hour hot tub, then we shall discuss food. Probably something along the line of chicken breast breaded in pecan, greens, cornbread, apple strudel to satisfy my sweet tooth. I have had sweet cravings lately. No!!!! Not even kittens!

Ah, typo. I wouldn't mind dessert in the desert. Too cold here.
