Whenever you go to the restaurant and get a drink cup for the soda fountain (or to the movies as another example), do you like to have a lot of ice with your drink? Or no ice? Maybe a little bit?
I personally like to get a lot of ice, because I like my soda very cold and the sensation of drinking it with a lot of ice. Makes it taste better for me.
I suppose you get less drink per cup, but if it's refillable doesn't really matter right?
I also like ice that's not large sized cubes. I prefer the smaller ice.
I use at least a half-glass of ice because I like my drinks ice-cold. Which was really a problem when I was in Ireland and England, because they serve things warmish with no ice, and if you ask for ice, you get like one cube.

Rarely do I get soft drinks of any kind, I am just not a fan, but when I do, I like very little ice. When it comes to water, unless it is 100 degrees outside I don't want any ice. In fact I prefer tap water and I do not keep my water in the fridge, spoiled brat likes ice.
I don't drink fountain drinks. But other drinks (water, tea) get no ice. I got used to it in Germany when I was a kid, and it stayed my preference the rest of my life.
