Don't know much about Irish cooking. Sounds like some of you here know your stuff.

It'll either be corned beef and cabbage or a couple of reuben sandwiches. That's the best I can do.

Corned beef and cabbage. The recipe from Sheila Lukins' cookbook All Around the World is my favorite.

I have the corned beef simmering on the cook top now. I'll add the potatoes and cabbage later. We'll be out of town on Tuesday so doing it today. It's usually too much food for two of us, but one of the kids is home for the next few days so it works today.

Due to commitments we will be busy this week but come next Saturday I will do corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and I add parsnips as a reminder of my Mom. Also Irish soda bread. I will drink Powers Irish Whisky and a pint or two of Guinness. The Boston Irish creeps out in my on St. Patrick's Day....LOL

I recently did a lovely Shepard's Pie. With lamb it is Shepard's Pie. With beef it is Cottage or Country Pie.

My mom used to put it in a flour mixture. Creating a round shape (or whatever shape you're up for). Flipping it and then into the pan it goes. Would that help you?
