I was at the store when I overheard a male shopper tell his female friend/wife? to put down the tofu as he didn't want to be eating female hormones and turning girly.
I did a little googling and came across it being a "myth" or you would have to consume HUGE quantities etc.
If you are male, do you eat soy without a second thought? Or limit it? I am of course not talking about taste, GMOs etc. Just on the "estrogen" factor.

I eat it all the time. It is a myth.
That of course hasn't stopped a lot of amateur food bloggers -- mostly paleo folks -- from perpetuating it.
The key point here is that there are chemicals in soy that have a similar structure to estrogen. This actually reduces estrogen uptake because those molecules can bind on estrogen receptors, preventing actual estrogen from having a spot.

WTF?!?! Does this guy also avoid some foods because they contain cooties?
I don't eat a lot of tofu, I'm not crazy about the texture of it, but I use it for things like udon and miso soup.
Mr. CSD would rather eat river sludge mixed with pond scum if he to chose that over Tofu.
He has no soy based Tofu driven paranoia he just cannot stand the over textured no flavor involved.

My hubby only likes it if it's marinated and roasted/sauteed. I use it a few times a week in various dishes.
Not on purpose but not because of turning "girly". lol
I just don't like it.
