I'll answer your question.
Answer: I don't know. I never counted. But I could eat it until I'm bursting... and that seems to take a very long time (and lots of sashimi) because good sashimi is goooooood.
I went to a buffet today and broke my record! I had 29 pieces of salmon!
What is your record?
That salmon was very likely farmed, and 29 pieces probably had enough mercury to fill a thermometer. For your own sake, I hope you don't do that too often, and never if you are pregnant.

This would be my guy's answer. For me I need a little rice and/or seaweed. I love salmon, though, and tuna. My favorites.
I can say 90% of buffet salmon is farm. You be lucky they just happened to have a wild salmon laying around and used it.
The taste is a big difference. Farm salmon tastes bland, less fatty, and the texture is thicker.
Wild salmon, depends on variety varies. Some of my favorites like the King or Coho, you can never get that in a buffet.
King has a very distinct ocean fishy flavor that tastes very flavorful with salt or soy sauce. For Coho or Sockeye they are very rich in Omega-3 it's like eating a rare piece of filet. Tender texture and full of flagrance.
