You can use the prepared biscuit dough that comes in the pop tubes to make pretty tasty doughnuts. Shape, fry, sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar, or glaze how you like.

A lot of restaurants have recycle programs and will take your oil. You just have to have a pretty reliable canister to transport it in, ideally the bottle it came out of.

Have you had fish and chips from a chip shop that fries them both in the same oil?
