Is there a known state that you gotta have their Shrimp?
Is there a state that serves better shrimp say like North Carolina or Louisana?

Is prawn the same thing as shrimp and if so or not what is it like?

What is your favorite way to eat shrimp?

I love to eat shrimp cocktail with a good sauce cocktail sauce (I hate sauces that are weak)
I like fried popcorn shrimp and good big fantail fried shrimp.

I cant think of any ways that shrimp can be prepared...... think Bubba in Forrest Gump......
We eat a lot of it here in Fl, I go to the coast and buy it by the coolerful from the local shrimpers.
That being said, I dont know how the other states stack up, our shrimp are pretty doggone tasty!
I know that a prawn is a freshwater shrimp. It will be interesting to read more posts!

The best shrimp I have ever had are called Royal Reds. I had them in a mom and pop style restaurant on the gulf coast of AL. They are sweeter than regular shrimp and IMO are best steamed, then dipped in butter or cocktail sauce.
We have lived all over the country, and shrimp are definitely different by region. In Maine they have these tiny little shrimp(think popcorn shrimp at Red Lobster) that I don't care for. They do not have the same flavor as gulf shrimp and IMO do not even compare.

In my experience, shrimp taste different, based on where they come from. I love my Gulf shrimp done just about any way - but especially grilled, wrapped in bacon. YUM.

From what I understand a prawn is a very large shrimp.

I had also understood that the larger the shrimp, the less the taste is.

I will eat shrimp anyway you give it too me.

With cocktail sauce but I also love to dip into guacamole with some lemon.

Its wonderful in Chinese food, or in batter dipped in soy sauce.

If you are buying shrimp always buy wild caught, they have a much better flavour than the "farmed" variety... garlic shrimp rule. T&C
