The Aldi stores here get their house brand breads from the same bakery that makes Pepperidge Farm and other big brands.

I haven't seen any garbage at Aldi, other than in the trash can outside the entrance. Maybe you should look harder.

I love Aldis and always shop there first. The few items they don't carry I'll get elsewhere. But I love the fact that you can get not only staples for a good price, but also gourmet items as well. Many of their items are imported, mainly from Germany, and you can get some items that you normally wouldn't come across, or - in my case - afford if purchased in one of the major grocery chains. Their markdowns are incredible as well.

The imported dark chocolates are especially nice.

^^^

I like the cookies and the crackers as well as the imported cheeses. Those are pretty good.

When I make my run to the Midwest this summer, I will be bringing back a banana box filled with stuff from Aldi's.

As they expand in the US they realized that is necessary. But I doubt they will start giving out bags. Here's some top secret information: they offer free EV charging stations. But only in their home country. I started shopping there when a closer competing store closed.

That would be a contract bakery that produces items to the standards specified by Aldi. Whatever other products they make are irrelevant.

I'm trying to not think about it, but that scene from To Kill a Mockingbird keeps haunting me.

My go to store. Most of their packaged goods have better quality ingredients (less sugar, salt, coloring, preservatives, fat etc) than equivalent brand names, and I find most of their offerings of good to high quality. Sure can't beat their prices, often a fraction of Walmart.
